Overview
This position has direct supervision of staff and coordinates and oversees daily facilities operations including the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems by performing the following duties. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent. Five or more years' experience in healthcare, preferably mechanical or electrical trades Previous supervisor experience preferred CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Senior Healthcare Facilities Mechanic preferred For those driving Mercyhealth vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy. For those driving their personal vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver's License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written/oral instructions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of blueprints and power tools Knowledge of CMS, TJC, OSHA, EPA, DPH, and other regulatory bodies Good interpersonal/communication skills Good interpretive/analytical skills Good at multitasking SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Function of the position with or without accommodations. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Level of Supervision Work is performed according to specific procedures and methods. The incumbent must make decisions using independent judgment required in order to adapt to routine situations.
