Position Type: Seasonal - Part Time Wage Range: $17 + tips Supervisory: No Supervised By: Taps Bar Manager POSITION SUMMARY: : Sound Tech provides all contact with band answering their questions and servicing their needs as well as running sound board during event. Must be able to fulfill all scheduled event dates for the 2024/25 winter season. Will assist in booking, scheduling and contracting bands and other special events. Applicant must be 21 years or older. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Distributing, collecting, and submitting contracts within allotted time. Collecting accurate, up-to-date W9's. Submitting check requests, verifying reception of said checks, and handing over to the bands on completion of their performance. All follow up- questions/requests from bands, coordinating cancellations/changes. Informing marketing/events and activities on dates, times, and correct name of band. Keeping within budget. Updating spreadsheet with current contact information as it changes as well as notes on performances. Weekly (as a minimum) promotional FB posts for shows. Reviews band contract and reaches out to band at least one week prior to performance. Is the contact for band once contract is signed. Assists with unload and loading of all band equipment and gets them set up in a functional noninvasive manner. Hands out parking pass/es, meal ticket/s and drink ticket/s per contract designation. Runs audio cables and helps set monitors and towers. Does sound check with band and helps control noise. Hands off band check when performance is complete and equipment has been accounted for (bands and house equipment). After band is gone, cleans stage and make sure all house equipment is properly stored. Leaves all work areas ready to go for next day's shift. Occasionally may be asked to help with an outdoor performance with same requirements as above. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Combined standing/walking position for up to 12 hours per shift. Will lift 50lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs infrequently - assistance is available for heavy lifting.; will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist and reach above shoulder level on a frequent basis; will use hands for grasping and fine manipulation. Worksite is 80% inside and 20% outside. Exposed to all temperatures and moisture conditions. All sensory skills needed. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be willing to obtain extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and activities. Responsibilities are listed as guidelines and are not limited to these items. This position may double as secondary doorman/busser when needed. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SKILLS: Sound board and instruments/tools associated with sound technician required. EDUCATION: English reading, writing and communication; basic math EXPERIENCE: 1 year minimum LICENSE NEEDED: None AGE REQUIREMENTS: Must be 21 years or older MACHINES/TOOLS OPERATED: Dumbwaiter, all sound board equipment and house music system. JUDGMENT/MENTAL COMPLEXITY: High REVIEW SCHEDULE: This position and the person filling it will be evaluated once per season.
