$22.75 an hour. Part-time, Monday- Friday 10am-2:00pm.This is a limited duration position December 2024-June 2025. it is site based at 41 SE 102nd Avenue, Portland OR. New Avenues for Youth seeks a compassionate and resilient Economic Empowerment Education Coordinator to join the New Day team. As an Economic Empowerment Education Coordinator, you'll be a builder of curriculum and trainer. Who You Are: Experienced: You may have lived experience with navigating gender-based violence and impacts of the sex trades and understand how those experiences can impact financial wellness. Your experience is a source of strength, knowledge and expertise and fuels your compassion and care. Non-Judgmental: You work alongside both youth and staff with lives experience in the sex industry without judgment. You have an awareness of biases personally and systematically that individuals who have been in the sex industry might face. Reliable: You are committed to showing up consistently, building trust, and following through on your promises and deadlines. Organized: You understand and feel confident juggling multiple priorities, deadlines, and communicating with your managers about expectations Equity: You understand how systemic oppression impacts the lives of youth in programs and the systems that you will support youth in navigating. You approach this world with humility and a deep sense of growth and learning. What You'll Do: Collaborate in building Economic Empowerment tools: Work with the team to create an economic empowerment and harm reduction focused tool kit for mentors on the New Day team to implement with youth. Support Growth and Learning: Lead trainings for staff and youth on content related to economic empowerment and finances, facilitate feedback opportunities on what you are developing. Document the Journey: Maintain accurate and timely records, ensuring that our programs have the data they need to thrive and continue serving those who need it most.
