Requisition ID req31147 Working Title Supv, Academic Support and Admissions Advisement Position Grade 13 Position Summary The Physician Assistant Program in the Department of Family and Community Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a highly-motivated, professional, team-oriented Supervisor, Academic Advisement to join our team. This dynamic position will work with PA Program faculty and staff, current and prospective UNM PA students, PA Program alumni, and others to advance the PA Program's mission of educating PA students to become exemplary providers with a focus on primary care medicine for the underserved and rural populations of New Mexico. Primary duties and responsibilities include: Student success and advisement: * Provide advisement and student support services for diverse populations of prospective PA students, with a special focus on New Mexico residents seeking to further their education in the UNM PA Program * Oversee the program's outreach and recruitment initiatives, including designing and delivering presentations and workshops * Participate in the PA Program admission process * Support student success and retention through oversight of areas such as student compliance, student accommodation tracking, and student organization activities * Provide oversight for learning management systems and platforms designed to support student success * Participate in program, departmental, and school committees related to student success Program oversight/supervision: * Directly supervise and manage identified PA Program staff in support of student success in both didactic and clinical educational program phase operations and logistics * Work with program faculty in mapping of the didactic and clinical education curriculum and alignment of instructional outcomes and learning objectives * Guide PA Program alumni efforts, such as alumni events, newsletters, awards, and fundraising initiatives * Collaborate with leadership, faculty, and staff to support the PA Program's accreditation work through review of standards and reporting * Support the PA Program through involvement in various program-wide initiatives and events such as admissions interviews, orientation, white coat and convocation ceremonies * Other duties as assigned See the Position Description for additional information. Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working with faculty, staff, and students in a health sciences educational program * Knowledge of and experience with student recruitment, admission, and retention in an academic health sciences program * Experience supervising staff, including hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution * Experience designing and delivering presentations to diverse populations * Demonstrated experience collaborating and building partnerships * Experience working with and meeting accreditation standards * Critical thinking skills as demonstrated by use of independent judgment to solve complex problems * Self-starter, process-oriented team player * Flexible and willing to assist with proctoring of exams, program events, and other duties outside of primary responsibilities to support program and student success Additional Requirements Campus Health Sciences Center (HSC) - Albuquerque, NM Department FCM Physician Assistant Program (160E) Employment Type Staff Staff Type Regular - Full-Time Term End Date Status Exempt Pay Monthly: $4,073.33-$5,721.73 Benefits Eligible This is a benefits eligible position.
