Description

V2X is seeking an organized and detail-oriented TH-57 Maintenance Control Specialist to join our team at NAS Whiting Field, supporting the Advanced Helicopter Training System (AHTS). The Maintenance Control Specialist will play a crucial role in coordinating and overseeing maintenance operations to ensure the safety, reliability, and operational readiness of our training helicopters. This position involves monitoring maintenance schedules, tracking work progress, and ensuring that all maintenance activities comply with military and FAA regulations.

Basic Function Summary:



  • Have a basic understanding of Naval Aviation Maintenance Data System (MDS).
  • Responsible to record and report aircraft discrepancies to proper work center, maintain aircraft registers, and status boards.
  • Maintain Aircraft Discrepancy Book (ADB).
  • May be required to handle hazardous materials of assigned duties.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Be able to utilize two-way radio and/or intercom system.
  • Have knowledge of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series and other applicable Navy instructions and company instructions.
  • Must be able to interface with government representatives.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write legibly, and understand the English language.


Essential Duties and Accountabilities:



  • Responsible to Maintenance Control Supervisor in performing those duties assigned.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the duties assigned to Aircraft Issuer to such a degree that you can accomplish those tasks when assigned.
  • Within 45 days of entering position, must qualify and continually maintain certification to release aircraft "safe for flight".
  • Initiate and screen completed workorders for correct entries and data.
  • Assign Job Control Numbers (JCNs).
  • Distribute workorders.
  • Complete maintenance data forms and screen for completeness and correctness.
  • Initiate workorders for inspections in accordance with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2
  • Maintain Aircraft Discrepancy Book (ADB) in accordance with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2
  • Maintain MDS in accordance with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series and other applicable Navy instructions and company instructions.
  • Verify MDS with Material, ADB, and work centers.
  • Coordinate and maintain aircraft rinse sheets.
  • When qualified and assigned by the Maintenance Control Supervisor, assist in scheduling aircraft into the Maintenance Program to ensure maximum availability of assets.
  • When qualified and assigned by the Maintenance Control Supervisor, may assign logistics priorities for required parts.
  • When qualified and assigned by the Maintenance Control Supervisor, may control and direct ground movement of aircraft in support of the maintenance effort.
  • Monitor and assist the line move crew when operating inside the hangar.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area.
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for adhering to the Tool Control Program.
  • Must comply with established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to this contract, facilities, and job assignment.
  • Document work accomplished on government and company electronic and/or manual information systems.
  • Ensure proper grounding and placement of drip pans following aircraft placement in hangar.
  • Ensure grounding cables and drip pans are stowed after aircraft are moved from hangar.
  • Assist aircraft handlers in closing hangar doors during inclement weather.
  • Assist in ensuring the safety, security, inventory, and preservation of government owned and company owned equipment.
  • Perform other related duties within the job classification.


Qualification Standards:



  • Must have two (2) years of specialized experience in aviation maintenance control.
  • Must meet formal training requirements to be certified to release aircraft safe for flight.
  • Completion of Maintenance Control Management OOMA course (C-555-0053) or equivalent.
  • Must meet any other qualification standard imposed by the government contract not covered by this agreement.


Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:



  • This classification activity is usually accomplished in an office-like environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with office activities.
  • May occasionally be required to lift objects whose weight exceeds 30 pounds.
  • The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little to no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc.
  • May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • May be exposed to electrical shock hazards.


Licensing / Certification Requirements:



  • Safe for Flight Certifications
  • Hazardous Materials Certification

  • The successful candidate's starting pay will be based on the current rate agreed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for this site.
  • The following salary range is intended to display the current per hour rate for this job.
