Job Description: Job Title Linux/UNIX Engineer Corporate Title Vice President Location Jacksonville, FL Overview The Unix Engineering team is responsible for the strategy, engineering and delivery of the Linux and UNIX platforms within the Bank. Our focus is on automating all aspects of deployment, configuration, testing and management of the hardware, firmware, OS and clustering stack by integrating automation tooling into a larger continuous integration framework and pipeline. What We Offer You A diverse and inclusive environment that embraces change, innovation, and collaboration A hybrid working model, allowing for in-office / work from home flexibility, generous vacation, personal and volunteer days Employee Resource Groups support an inclusive workplace for everyone and promote community engagement Competitive compensation packages including health and wellbeing benefits, retirement savings plans, parental leave, and family building benefits Educational resources, matching gift and volunteer programs What You'll Do Engineering standard OS builds and layered products, RedHat Enterprise Linux and Suse Linux Enterprise Server, automation, system configurations Testing of components to ensure compatibility and safety Developing automation to reduce toil and privileged access Writing technical documentation, including design documentation, training materials, and white papers How You'll Lead Management and ownership of selected critical problem cases within the Bank, drive through to resolution as level 3/4 subject matter expertise engineering resource Strong leadership skills Skills You'll Need Knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux and Suse Linux Enterprise Server Broad knowledge of other Unix Operating Systems and associated add-on technology stacks OS level problem determination, problem analysis and tuning experience (memory, disk, network, file system, etc.), problem solving Experience with Ansible, git/stash, TeamCity/Jenkins, Jira, Confluence Scripting skills (Python, Perl, shell) Skills That Will Help You Excel Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken Bachelor's degree in relevant field Self-motivated Expectations It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Jacksonville office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model. The salary range for this position in Jacksonville is $100,000 to $145,500.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
