The Vice President, Finance is a hands-on role directing and coordinating financial execution and strategic planning initiatives across the business units, operations, engineering, mission assurance, advanced concepts, growth and the Chief Technology Officer. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will work with all members of Mercury's executive leadership team as well as all areas of discipline within the finance function.


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Lead financial collaboration for the business and operational financial reporting and forecasting processes within the business units in coordination with the Finance Leadership team
  • Work with Executive Management Team on:
    o Development and monitoring of financial objectives and Key Performance Indicators
    o Providing the financial format and analytic framework for meaningful periodic internal reports and analysis of financial results and forecasts compared to budgets and benchmarks
    o Supporting timely decision-making and facilitating industry-leading financial execution and performance

  • Partner closely with the CFO and COO to develop financial metrics and processes to accurately track and optimize key operational metrics (inventory, contract receivables, capacity utilization, etc.)
  • Partner with the CFO and COO to drive consistent metrics for tracking transformation savings and operational efficiencies
  • Development (in coordination with the Financial Leadership team) of financial forecasting, models, and analyses to support strategic initiatives and critical financial decisions as well as to project financial results of key business initiatives, including analysis of proposed investments
  • Work with Business Systems team to help ensure appropriate financial and analytic tools are in place to drive business growth, operational execution, automation, and efficiency
  • Provide support to enable an effective and efficient planning processes for the formulation, review, and communication of the rolling five-year strategic financial plan and annual budget
  • Provide leadership, development, mentoring, coaching, and management of highly skilled and motivated teams of individuals in the above activities



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Finance or Accounting
  • 16+ years of progressive experience in financial management with at least 10 at the Director level or above in a highly visible financial reporting role.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with executive management.
  • Aerospace and Defense industry experience; significant knowledge of program accounting, government rates and acquisition process.
  • Must have strong reporting and forecasting practices.
  • Superior technical and analytical skills; advanced knowledge of operational accounting, financial modeling, analysis; experience with financial systems and implementation
  • Previous demonstrated success working in a highly matrixed environment
  • Impeccable integrity with previous experience working across all financial disciplines
  • Background in Program Finance and manufacturing operations

  • Strong people development skills; the ability to continuously attract, recruit, train, develop, motivate, and retain high-potential talent
  • Strong personal and business values aligned with the cultural values of the Company
