About the Role:

STV is excited to announce an opportunity for anElectrical Department Leadwithin our thriving Buildings Group. Based in the vibrant city of Boston MA, you'll report directly to the MEP Engineering Director and lead a talented team of Electrical Engineers, including Interns, EITs, and PEs. As part of our National Buildings Group, you'll collaborate with a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team of Engineers, Planners, Architects, and CM/PM professionals.

What You'll Do:

In this pivotal role, you'll spearhead the design and project management of diverse projects, including public transit terminals, transportation maintenance facilities, higher education institutions, municipal buildings, correctional facilities, corporate offices, healthcare facilities, life sciences buildings, government buildings, and justice facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Mentorship:Guide and inspire a team of 5-7 engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Project Management:Oversee day-to-day production design, project scope and planning, proposal and budget estimates, and the design and post-design phases of electrical building systems.

  • Innovation & Growth:Play a crucial role in expanding your team and contributing to STV's growth plans. You'll be hands-on, especially with complex projects, and drive the vision for your role and team's development.

  • Best Practices:Develop and implement best practices across Revit and AutoCAD design efforts, ensuring high standards and successful project completion.

  • Client Solutions:Deliver exceptional solutions to clients, enhancing project delivery and team utilization.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead project QA/QC efforts and act as the technical lead on complex scopes of work.

  • Develop best practices across Revit and/or AutoCAD design for power, lighting, and fire alarm systems.

  • Size and specify electrical equipment and systems.

  • Perform electrical calculations using specialized engineering software for lighting, short-circuit analyses, protective device coordination studies, and arc flash analysis.

  • Develop reports and specifications using Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Analyze field surveys and document existing conditions.

  • Mentor and manage electrical staff.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Education:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

  • Experience:Minimum of 15 years in electrical engineering design production with at least 3 years leadership experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer, Lead Project Manager or Discipline Lead role.

  • Registration:Must be a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Massachusetts and willing to obtain future PE licensure in other states.

Compensation Range:

$157,369.00 - $209,826.00
