This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee a portfolio of facilities and critical improvement projects that will optimize our current infrastructure while paving the way for future growth and innovation.
In this pivotal role, the Administrator collaborates closely with senior leadership to develop guiding principles for space requirements to meet the clinical and administrative needs across UVA Health sites, ensuring alignment with our organizational vision. The strategic insight and understanding of efficient hospital operations will drive the creation of both short and long-range master plans, setting the stage for comprehensive facility enhancements that meet the evolving needs of our community and stakeholders. The Administrator leads a dedicated team in assessing our current facilities, projecting future growth requirements, and reviewing operational systems to inform strategic facility options. Their expertise in leveraging technology and analytics will be instrumental in creating predictive models that ensure UVA can accommodate anticipated volume demands and customer requirements, optimizing resource allocation and operational efficiencies. The Administrator will oversee the prioritization and budget of major capital projects, guiding them from the initial concept through design and implementation phases. The ability to navigate complex project landscapes and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders will be essential in achieving project goals and securing approval from senior leadership and governance bodies. In partnership with the University Facilities Management, the Administrator provides direction to the Health System Physical Plant (HSPP). HSPP is the department charged with providing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, major maintenance and holding maintenance reserves for the Medical Center and with ensuring compliance with related Life Safety and Environment of Care Joint Commission Standards.
