Position Summary

The role of Manager - Data Center Critical Infrastructure is responsible for supporting all aspects of the CPS Energy Facilities Critical Infrastructure with a focus on providing resiliency, redundancy and high availability of critical systems supporting core operations. This position will work collaboratively within internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and partners to ensure critical infrastructure operations are aligned with defined requirements. This position will also organize and maintain the critical infrastructure operations team and its responsibilities.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of Facilities Operations Data Center personnel including Foreman, Journeyman Electricians, and Coordinators as assigned.
  • Oversee the operations, maintenance, and repairs of CPS Energy Facilities' critical infrastructure assets, ensuring reliability, security, and resilience.
  • Directs skilled personnel resources for all critical infrastructure projects, actions, and tasks.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats to the infrastructure systems.
  • Lead the design and implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing infrastructure resilience.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and standards pertaining to infrastructure security and protection.
  • Coordinate emergency response and recovery efforts in the event of infrastructure disruptions or failures.
  • Work close with Business Services team to develop and maintain a budget for infrastructure maintenance and capital improvement.
  • Conduct regular assessments, drills and tests to evaluate infrastructure redundancy and resilience.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies and best practices in critical infrastructure management.

Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Journeyman Electrician or above.
Extensive Data Center Infrastructure Management experience.
Strong knowledge of facility critical infrastructure systems, to include but not limited to generator, UPS, switchgear, HVAC, and fire protection.
Ability to understand building electrical schematics.
Ability to work with people from various disciplines with varying degrees of technical skills in a professional manner.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude while adapting to quickly changing demands.
Pass a security background check as prescribed by NERC.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be customer service oriented.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in facility critical infrastructure with strong knowledge of electrical and HVAC.
  • Certified through IDCA as Data Center Operation Manager.
  • Proficient with BMS (Building Management Systems) i.e., Metasys, SCADA.
  • Master Electrician certification.

Working Environment
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
Employee may potentially be exposed to hazardous chem, wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather, noisy and dusty environment. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. After hours work may be required.
Physical Demands
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
