Position Summary

The Government Relations Analyst is an integral role at MultiCare, working in support of the VP of Public Policy & Advocacy to develop and implement ongoing policy agenda and strategy. In this position you will advance local and state legislative and regulatory advocacy functions, including research and policy analysis and communications with audiences on priority MHS issues. The position must develop strong professional relationships with peers in key external groups such as state associations, public and private health service organizations, community coalitions, and state policymakers to ensure the success of MultiCare's government relations program.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report legislative and regulatory issues that have an impact on MultiCare and research public policy issues pertaining to health care and develop abstracts as requested
  • Provide research for business unit projects and synthesize information for a variety of audiences.
  • Communicate effectively and continually regarding on going legislative efforts, upcoming events, status of priorities and other information that affects the system's goals to the following:
    • Local and state elected officials and staff,
    • State departments, agencies, coalitions and other organizations,
    • MHS individual business units.
  • Prepare written materials, including explanations of policy issues, comments on proposed legislation or regulations, newsletter articles, reports to board, web content, blog posts and other materials as needed.
  • Present information about policy and legislation to small and large groups in person, by webinars or other electronic means.
  • Review, analyze, and identify relevant operational issues that would occur as a result of legislative and regulatory pronouncements and activities of agencies and advisory bodies.
  • Representing MHS on external committees and task forces as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, political science, or related field required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive relevant experience working in health care, public health, or government relations environment

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $78,250.00 - $112,582.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
