Description

Join our esteemed healthcare team dedicated to providing exceptional care to our Structural Heart patients. We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team and contribute to our commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery.

Schedule: Full-time
Responsibilities:


  • Patient Assessment and Care: Conduct thorough patient assessments, perform physical examinations, and formulate assessments and diagnoses. Initiate, review, and revise treatment plans, ensuring accurate documentation and presentation of data to the supervising physician.
  • Medical Practice Support: Provide essential patient care services within the medical practice. Assist physicians during interventional treatments and manage incoming phone messages, including timely call backs to patients with responses to attending physicians.
  • Referrals and Consultations: Make referrals to other healthcare providers when necessary and consult with physicians for further definitive therapy. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Diagnostic Tests and Procedures: Order and evaluate appropriate non-invasive diagnostic tests and procedures, maintaining a commitment to evidence-based practice.
  • Patient Education: Instruct and counsel patients on healthcare, health maintenance, medical problems, treatment plans, nutrition, and related issues, ensuring a patient-centered approach.
  • System Coordination: Facilitate efficient patient movement through the healthcare system and optimizing resource utilization through interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Audits and Research Involvement: Participate in audits and research initiatives within the healthcare setting, contributing valuable insights and helping to advance our understanding and practices in Cardiothoracic Surgical care.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other duties as assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the healthcare team.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Physician Assistant: NYS license and certification as a Physician Assistant. Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) from an accredited school of Physician Assistants. Excellent communication skills.

Nurse Practitioner: Current NYS RN license. Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Nursing or completion of a Nurse Practitioner course. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in adult health and/or family health nurse practitioner.Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a fast-paced medical practice. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Experience with Cardiothoracic Surgery.
