Technical Editor - Proposals (5439)

Are you a detail-oriented editor with a passion for ensuring high-quality, compliant documents? We are seeking a Technical Editor to join our proposals team. In this role, you will work closely with subject matter experts, Technical Fellows, capture teams, and proposal managers to produce compelling, compliant proposals that win government contracts.

What You'll Do:



  • Review, proofread, and copy edit proposals to ensure we deliver a professional, polished final product.
  • Work with complex technical and management content to ensure clarity, readability, and responsiveness to client needs.
  • Ensure proposals adhere to MetroStar's style guides, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting consistency.
  • Collaborate with proposal teams to organize and reference attachments, exhibits, and other supporting documents to ensure a cohesive, "one-voice" submission.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple editing assignments under tight deadlines, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Participate in post-proposal reviews to provide feedback and insights into future proposal improvements.


What You'll Bring:



  • Bachelor's degree or four (4) years of additional relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience drafting and editing technical documents, preferably in a professional services or government contracting environment.
  • Experience collaborating with subject matter experts and consultants to create clear, concise content that aligns with proposal requirements.
  • Strong understanding of RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and the federal procurement process.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality work, even under multiple, fast-paced deadlines.
  • Superior communication, writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with an emphasis on technical accuracy, plain language and consistency.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and strong proficiency in SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, balancing competing priorities and large volumes of material.
  • A team spirit and willingness to jump in, even after hours, to meet critical deadlines.
  • As part of your interview, you will be asked to edit a three page document in real time
