Job Summary

Drive the growth and profitability of the Home and Personal Care Appliances division by developing and maintaining robust sources of supply. Take ownership of product costs and capital expenditures across all assigned categories. Identify and implement cost improvement opportunities, alongside value engineering and cost reduction initiatives, to enhance overall value and efficiency.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Analytical (70%)



  • Vendor Identification: Identify and evaluate potential vendors for the manufacturing of global product platforms
  • Total Cost of Ownership Evaluation: Gather quote packages and assess proposals, considering Total Cost of Ownership to select the most suitable supplier
  • Cost Improvement Initiatives: Proactively drive and negotiate initiatives focused on cost improvement and avoidance
  • Cost Analysis: Provide current and historical product costs to cross-functional teams to support project planning, product development, and financial analysis
  • Cost Change Oversight: Review and approve all cost changes for products within assigned categories
  • Capacity Analysis: Analyze monthly demand forecasts to ensure that vendors maintain sufficient tooling and production capacity to meet demand


Managerial (20%)



  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and overseas suppliers
  • Quarterly Business Reviews: Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with suppliers, utilizing both Teams and in-person meetings
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate supplier relationships, assess performance, and proactively address and resolve any issues


Administrative (10%)



  • Change Management: Oversee the Price Change Notification and Award Letter processes
  • Expense Tracking: Update the capital expense tracker to ensure timely payments to suppliers
  • Issue Troubleshooting: Address any issues related to Accounts Payable, SAP systems, SharePoint, and other administrative functions as needed


Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in a business, procurement, or related discipline
  • 0-2 years experience in a Sourcing role/function
  • Financial understanding of commodity/currency exchange is highly desirable
  • Experience in working with global suppliers is highly desirable
  • Management of multiple projects with cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with internal and external stakeholders

  • Data Analysis Expertise: Proven ability to gather and analyze large datasets, translating insights into actionable recommendations
  • Clear and Concise Summarization: ability to distill complex information into straightforward summaries that resonate with diverse audiences
  • Effective Presentation Skills: Comfort in presenting information confidently in both virtual settings (e.g., Microsoft Teams) and in-person meetings
  • Process Improvement Mindset: Strong understanding of business processes, with an ability for identifying opportunities for enhancement and driving initiatives to completion
  • Consensus-Building: Capable of facilitating discussions that lead to effective communication and consensus among team members
  • Willingness to Travel: Open to domestic and international travel as required

Work Environment

Working conditions are normal for an office environment.

Hybrid work environment (Monday and Friday are work from home, Tuesday- Thursday are in our Middleton, WI office.
