Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The General Supervisor is a driving force in leading the production floor towards meeting overall production goals and efficiencies &is responsible for day-to-day operations of the entire production floor. This position works with counterparts assigned to each production shift to coordinate resources, set priorities, ensure effective operations are in place, and serves as management team representative on the production floor. The General Supervisor provides support and guidance for area Production Coordinators (PC's), as it relates to consistency, escalation of issues, process control, performance issues, functional training, and driving production performance efficiencies.

This Supervisor will be assigned all employees on this shift as direct reports, with Materials and Maintenance as an exception. However, this Supervisor will still be responsible for the shift, therefore, can fill in for their Supervisor if they are not on site or available.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Drives productivity, efficiencies, & cleanliness by maintaining procedures and policies, establishing priorities and scheduling of production with project management and sales, and by reporting information relating to equipment, scheduling, and quality to ensure that all jobs are completed on a timely basis according to quality specifications.

2. Coordinates resources/staffing across the production floor & sets production priorities.

3. Coordinates training & Process Control to ensure all associates are informed of new processes, rules, and regulations.

4. Promotes and initiates on-going process improvements to maintain flawless execution and client satisfaction. .

5. Conducts new business planning and development.

6. Conducts root cause analysis by documenting and evaluating current processes and makes necessary improvements to increase productivity.

7. Leads the production team by providing direction & ensuring policies (HR, Health & Safety, ISO, Productivity) are being met.

8. Acts as a liaison between project management teams and production in meeting the clients' requirements as well as Moore Wallace requirements.

9. Gives performance reviews to employees using performance measures, objectives set during the previous evaluation, input from co-workers, and general observations to provide feedback to the employee and to help them progress in their position. Assists the associate in setting new performance objectives.


Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

This Position requires:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business or Production related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, organization, and industry practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of technologies across the production floor, including USPS requirements.
  • Ability to develop and implement initiatives (product, process, policy, improvement).
  • Ability to deal with associate issues in a consistent and timely manner.

Additional Information

Available Shifts:

  • DShift - Friday through Mondays 5pm to 5am. (This is a salaried exempt position. This is the general time frame needed to be covered. Exact times/days may vary based on production needs.)

Disclosure Statement:

Thenational pay range for this role is $57,700 to $95,000 annually. The payrange may beslightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. RRD offers benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus tuition assistance,maternity leave, adoption assistance, and employer/partner discounts.
