Position Summary:

Vallen's Program Manager Supply Chain Services is a staff management position responsible for overseeing the sales, operations and profitability of several large Supply Chain Solution customers. Directs the work of multiple onsite associates and/or managers in Supply Chain Services. Develops and implements logistics plans, budgets, and procedures to maximize compliance ensuring customer needs are met within budget constraints. Provides financial reporting and reconciliation of inventories. Guarantees site compliance with inventory audits and cycle counts, and develops corrective actions when appropriate. Collaborates with onsite associates and key business leaders to ensure positive and profitable customer relationships that contribute to the achievement of Vallen's financial goals and business objectives.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership to onsite sales and operations associates performing our supply chain solutions. Staff management responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, selecting, hiring, coaching, counseling, and disciplining associates while enforcing company policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function.
  • Develops and implements impactful policies, practices, and procedures that align with organizational goals. Ensures supply chain services meet high-quality standards, service level agreements, and cost optimization for goods or materials.
  • Drives operational efficiencies, exceeds customer expectations, and ensures exceptional service levels through KPI management, strong customer service orientation, and proactive follow-up skills.
  • Partner with multiple departments to assess and address customer issues through project management. Provide ownership to proactively provide solutions, ensuring all timelines are met.
  • Analyze team performance, assess program efficiency, report results, and manage ongoing improvements.
  • Ensures achievement of sales and profitability goals for portfolio of assigned sites.
  • Demonstrates leadership in driving process improvement and cost-saving initiatives by leveraging Vallen's Value Plus Program (VPP).
  • Resolves staffing, contractual, and financial issues escalated by site associates and leaders.
  • Initiates and manages sales growth within assigned supply chain solution sites. Provides guidance and mentorship to site associates/leaders, focusing on product standardization, consolidation, and expanding Vallen Exclusive Brands.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Supply Chain Mgt, Marketing, Finance, etc.) and 7+ years of outside or inside experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in supply chain management, wholesale distribution, industrial distribution, manufacturing, or a similarly applicable industry (indirect materials a plus).

  • Possesses a deep understanding of system dynamics, principles of vendor-managed inventory, and the impacts on supply chain performance.
  • 5+ years of staff management with a proven track record as a team leader demonstrating a solid understanding of people management practices.
  • Strong ability to develop and cultivate customer relationships at executive level of assigned portfolio of integrated supply sites.
  • Demonstration of basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units to measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals); ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent preferred.
  • Ability to compile routine reports and write correspondence.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be self-motivated to accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude and demonstrated knowledge of recognizing manufacturing applications where Vallen products, services and solutions can deliver cost savings to the local integrated supply customer.
  • Strong presentation skills with professional presence to deliver materials to a C-level executive audience (internally and/or externally)

  • Long periods of time working on a computer and performing repetitive key-boarding activities is required.
