Join us!The Community Technology Engineer is an advanced technical professional - with a customer service orientation - who can effectively provide a broad range of services, both directly to the end-user community and as a representative of the central office IT team to the community. The Community Technology Engineer is responsible for providing leading edge technology solutions as well as comprehensive IT management of both hardware and software (PC desktops, laptops, printers, application software, etc) at a community. They lead and manage facility and industry related technologies such as IP based security systems, telephony, networking, Wi-Fi, AV, nurse call system, mobile phones, and other technologies. Each community utilizes a wide array of technologies that requires a broad skill set to manage multiple types of technologies as well as numerous ongoing advances in innovative technology solutions and implementation.
Lead community wide technology efforts as the on-site technology leader:
- Responsible for high impact, end-to-end ownership of all technologies on community
- Generate ideas to solve business problems using technology and create business plans for technology solutions
- Propose and deploy approved technology solutions, as well as provide ongoing troubleshooting and maintenance
- Represent IT on community leadership team and participate at the leadership team level
- Represent community needs to corporate IT team
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level performance
- Provide exceptional customer experience, through driving problems to a successful outcome for the users
- Manage customer satisfaction metrics and any associated plans of correction
- Anticipate problems and create mitigation plans
- Manage the day-to-day work order flow of the IT related issues of the local community
- Preparing written and verbal reports of activity and issues for IT management
- Create and document local IT related policies and procedures
- Manage IT expense budget and identify areas for cost optimization
Lead technology solutions and provide user services for staff:
- Provide all levels and types of direct user support and services
- Execute training for users and manage compliance to training requirements, such as cybersecurity training
- Perform all levels of troubleshooting and drive issues to resolution
- Provide facility wide AV support
- Deploy equipment as needed
Lead technology solutions and provide user services for residents:
- Provide all levels and types of direct resident support and services
- Support Wi-Fi and network solutions in resident homes
- Deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain innovative technologies for residents such as the resident portal, mass communication solutions, and Amazon Alexa type devices
- Partner with facilities team to deploy required equipment or act as escalation point for resident home services
- Respond to service calls from residents
- Track calls and the associated revenue generated
- Lead technology classes for residents
Lead networking solutions and network infrastructure for all facilities on campus:
- Deploy, administer, and maintain community wireless network infrastructure
- Work with network engineers to manage network switch operations
Project Management:
- Complete inventory and budgeting as needed to facilitate proper project planning
- Manage location specific project schedules and execution
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Required Degree: High School Diploma Preferred Degree: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field Certificate(s):
Experience:
- 2+ years related experience, in a technical IT services position
- Experience in managing vendor relationships, contracts, and service level expectations
- Project management experience is preferred
- Experience working in a senior living facility or with older adults is preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
- Substantial knowledge of PC hardware, Windows operating systems, printers, Citrix and basic networking
- Advanced technology abilities to work effectively with a wide range of equipment and technologies
- Ability to keep up with trends, changing technologies, and best practices to effectively implement ever changing technologies
- Excellent customer service skills and a desire to maximize customer satisfaction
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct oversight
- Ability to effectively complete required documentation activities
- Ability to drive successful results, from conception to conclusion
- Ability to own responsibilities from start to finish
- Ability to become a subject matter expert in one or more technical areas and be able to share that skill to develop other IT staff
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
- Mobility within the facility, along with mobility to other buildings within the same community
- Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and stoop
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to physically move and install equipment
- Ability to use the telephone, computer and keyboard, printer and other office equipment.
$35.50 - $40.00
