Position Highlights |
The Center for Biomedical Informatics & Biostatistics (CB2) seeks a dynamic and collaborative Associate Director. CB2 supports UArizona Health Sciences' clinical research enterprise and mission with informatics, tools, clinical data sources, and shared human and technical resources. This position exists to direct the research development, operations and management portfolio, and will oversee CB2's operations, pertaining to administrative, financial, personnel, and organizational functions, as well as provide strategic support and leadership in planning, developing, and implementing new programs to advance its mission and goals. The Center will undergo dramatic growth over the next several years with the recruitment of more than 10 new faculty members, expansion of its education and research programs, and transformation of its daily operations to support such growth. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Oversee workforce management and research operations, collaborating with partners like Banner Health and AHCCCS.
- Manage CB2 support staff and develop operational policies, space, and equipment management.
- Enhance operational systems and articulate goals and mission to stakeholders.
- Contribute to strategic organizational planning and growth initiatives.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary collaborations with internal and external partners.
- Develop and manage the annual budget and fiscal plans for new CB2 service lines.
- Provide financial reporting and manage internal billing processes.
- Conduct rate analyses for service recoupment and create self-supporting chargeback models.
- Plan and oversee new degree and training program launches.
- Serve as the chief liaison with stakeholders for consulting and informatics services.
- Proofread and edit written communications, including grants and proposals.
- Manage faculty and staff recruitment and handle information requests about the center.
- Lead branding and marketing efforts for CB2 to enhance visibility on campus and nationally.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required. Master's preferred.
- Nine (9) years of related work experience, including five (5) years of managerial experience, or equivalent combination of
education and work experience. - Experience leading a team, project, program, or function is required.

- Master's in business and finance or other related program.
- Experience in pre- and post-award grants management.
- Experience in education and degree program management.
- Experience with marketing, communications and outreach.
- Excellent fiscal data visualization and communication skills.
- Experience managing high performing teams.
