****Candidates with disabilities or Rehab referrals only**** $21.00/hr The General Maintenance Worker (GMW) will perform general building operations and maintenance needs in various types of commercial space. Candidate will perform general preventative maintenance on mechanical, and electrical systems, and general maintenance tasks as needed. The GMW is responsible for common area inspections and minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
- Assist other General Maintenance Workers, Shift Engineers, and Lead Engineers in Class "A" service delivery of Operations and Maintenance in high-end commercial environments.
- Respond to service calls/tenant requests for plumbing, lighting, escorts, general maintenance and painting duties, picture hanging, safely moving furniture and equipment as needed, and provide support or assistance when needed.
- Performs re-lamping of both indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures.
- Performs daily operations, inspects, maintains, and completes scheduled equipment preventative maintenance work orders.
- Conducts daily rounds of mechanical spaces, common areas, restrooms, and rooftops.
- Perform snow removal of the exterior grounds, sidewalks, etc., when necessary.
- Places general maintenance work orders in the work order system comprised of the daily rounds findings and resolves these work orders in a timely manner.
- Stays abreast of changes (safety and code) in the field through seminars and other educational means.
- Responds to minor emergency situations (i.e.; clogged toilet) and traces, troubleshoots, and repairs problems; may need to carry a radio and or cell phone for immediate response purposes.
- Conducts general maintenance to mechanical/electrical rooms including sweeping, mopping, and painting.
- Assists Grounds Maintenance with Spring and Fall plantings/mulching.
