Position Summary

Sealed Air is seeking a driven, team-oriented engineering professional to fulfill our current Industrial Electrical Engineering position, located in Ayer, Massachusetts. The qualified candidate will be responsible for industrial controls and software design from concept to manufacturing release. In this role the EE will innovate and design packaging equipment control systems. Candidates should be comfortable with designing to meet UL508A & CE standards. The ability to handle multiple projects, work independently and interact with team leaders as well as peers will be critical.

Position Scope includes new equipment development projects, support of legacy equipment, design and support of production test equipment, troubleshooting, problem solving, and cross functional team support.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design & maintain industrial control systems that are compliant to NEC, UL508A, NFPA 79 & CE
  • Create Schematics using AutoCAD Electrical CAD package
  • Create & maintain Bills Of Materials for industrial control systems
  • Create & maintain Wire run / point to point lists for industrial control systems
  • Design & document cable assemblies
  • Design control panel layouts
  • Program PLCs (Allen Bradely experience preferred) with ladder logic & Structured text
  • Program HMIs
  • Configure & Program Servo drives, VFDs, and DC drives
  • Maintain revision control on all documentation, drawings & Programs via engineering change notices (ECN), and doc. control systems.
  • Commission and support production equipment builds
  • Troubleshooting & field support with root cause analysis and corrective actions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent on the job experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with design and project engineering
  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant industrial controls experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proficiency with Rockwell software products RS Logix 500/5000, RS Studio
  • Ladder Logic programming
  • Experience with Servo & AC Drives
  • Knowledge of UL508A & NFPA79
  • Ability to travel if required.
  • Comfortable working with & providing guidance to peers

  • RSLOGIX 5000, Studio 5000, RSLOGIX 500, CCW (Connected components workbench), AutoCAD Electrical, UL508A, Ladder logic, HMI Layout & Design, Knowledge of Engineering release processes, Industrial communications; Ether\IP, CIP etc. SERVO & AC Drives, PID / Temperature Control Systems, MS Office suite. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
