Description The Leidos Space Division, whose primary products are IR Payloads that are hosted on satellites in earth orbit, is in need of an Optical Engineer - Intern to join our San Diego-based team in the summer of 2025. This unique opportunity will allow you to participate in a space program, supporting optical system design, integration, manufacturing, and test. Selected applicants will find challenging work that prepares them for their careers in the space domain and/or with imaging systems. This internship will broaden the intern's knowledge with industry standard tools, data analysis, and provide hands-on understanding of system design, test, and operations. Primary Responsibilities: The Optical Engineer - Intern will work in a small team environment, supporting the manufacturing and testing of optical components / systems such as telescopes. Tasks may include optical metrology, data analysis, and optical system wavefront testing.
