About the Team:

The Partners group at Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) equips our partners with the tools needed to release incredible products on our platform. The Gate Keepers team is a platform-focused group responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining services related to identity and access management, including Identity (Okta), SSO authentication (OAuth, MFA, OIDC, SAML), account management, and access control (FGA, RBAC, ReBAC, ABAC). The team is dedicated to improving and simplifying authorization and access control within the platform by implementing a fine-grained authorization system, while also supporting high-priority initiatives at SIE.

What You'll Be Doing:



  • Analyze current identity and access management (IAM) and access control patterns within the platform
  • Identify areas for improvement and propose solutions for access control enhancements
  • Participate in the implementation of a fine-grained authorization system, help onboard engineering teams and services, and streamline the process for maintaining the system
  • Understand and leverage third-party fine-grained authorization services and technologies
  • Design and develop APIs to provide a simplified access control mechanism on top of the existing authorization system


What We're Looking For:



  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Passionate about identity and access management (IAM), platform services, and supporting engineering teams
  • Knowledge of common identity and access control concepts (SSO, OAuth, OIDC, FGA)
  • Hands-on experience with backend web service or API development, preferably in Go
  • Familiarity with common cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Understanding of relational and non-relational database concepts, as well as graph-based databases


Eligibility:



  • Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.
  • Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.
  • Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.
  • Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.



Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

In addition, this role
