Who we are looking for:

Are you passionate about making a difference in health policy and cancer care delivery? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our Policy Team as a Health Policy Administrator.

This role is crucial in providing administrative support and coordination within our Policy and Advocacy department, with a specific focus on health policy initiatives related to cancer care delivery and research.

This position is hybrid with a primary location in Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide staff support to the Health Policy Committee (HPC) helping to fulfill a wide array of goals and efforts of this active group and its associated task forces.

  • Assist with agenda development and materials coordination for calls.

  • Contribute to the development of committee work products, including development of papers and other materials, and assist with creating and maintaining project timelines, routine communication of project status, and distribution of materials.

  • Generate committee correspondence, respond to inquiries, and produce minutes from committee and associated task force calls and meetings, and monitor and update project tracking grids.

  • Provide administrative and logistical coordination of committee calls and meetings.

  • Support the work of the Advocacy division as needed and appropriate.

  • Handle routine inquiries from ASCO members and others as required.

  • Maintain electronic filing system of program-related correspondence and meeting materials.

  • Assist in updating relevant portions of the ASCO website.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Public Policy or related field or equivalent years of experience

  • 3+years of related work experience in a professional organization

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Teams, and Adobe Acrobat; aptitude for learning new software applications

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 4+ years' experience in a health care-related environment or in an association

  • Experience in volunteer management or committee support

  • Experience working with a state or federal government, foundation, policy research organization, or health care program is highly desirable.

  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and multi-task

  • Excellent communication skills, including written, with ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization

  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in a collaborative fashion in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to identify appropriate consultation with colleagues and manager

  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with all division teams and management

ADA/Physical Requirements

Extended periods seated or standing at a desk.

High use of computer and other office technology equipment.

Travel

1-4 days/yr
