Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Special Assistant to the Women's Basketball Head Coach provides assistance to the Women's Basketball Program. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and organize schedules for practice squad consisting of managers and students (men)
  • Maintain list of players and practice players available for practices
  • Assist coach with scouting (players and defensive squads)
  • Track women's basketball players community service hours and report all hours to SASS
  • Lead for coordinating all community service events for the team
  • Ensure all events are entered into TeamWorks (software platform for Athletics)
  • Ensure locker room is stocked with snacks and drinks for players
  • Set up daily practice for team by taping the court, running the time clock, ensuring ball rack and cones are on the court
  • In charge of running Catapult software for every practice and downloading the data after practice for coach to review
  • Ensure all Catapult vests are returned to charging station when practice is complete and ensure Catapult gear is packed for away games
  • Assist DOBO with food pick up, and room assignments for travel
  • Responsible for gameday operations; ensure teams are coordinated for shoot around before game, coordinate pregame meal set up in the Golden Hawk Room, set up Catapult, DV Sports, boards, markers and film room, communicate to opposing team the timeline for film review and be available for any duties during the game from players, coaches, and opposing team
  • Organize the training table for practices and track allergies or feedback on meals
  • Responsible for entering all travel needs into ARMs software for team and coaches recruiting travel
  • Create recruiting booklet for each coach during summer recruiting and coordinate flights, lodging and rental car needs
  • Upload practice and game film to Hudl
  • Set up film and breakdown film for practice and run film during scouting event
  • Create scouting templates
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrated knowledge with standard office software including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Strong office management and administrative skills
  • Ability to be flexible and handle multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of NCAA regulations
  • Experience with software systems used to process travel, purchases, and financial transactions
