Overview

The Controls Testing & Assurance (CT&A) team is accountable for protecting Deutsche Bank from financial and reputational losses incurred by financial crimes through assessing, controlling, and mitigating risks. As the Quality Assurance (QA) Associate, you will review the sampled cases and provide feedback within the case management tool for any exceptions (errors) identified during the course of the review that detail their findings in addition to any non-findings. You will also be responsible for validating the research (sup- porting documentation) conducted by the Financial Crime Operations (FCO) Teams and ensuring all Deutsche Bank policies and procedures as well as complying with regulatory rules were followed based on the prescriptive procedures in place. The position will report to the Transaction Monitoring Quality Assurance (QA) Team Lead within CT&A in Jacksonville.

What You'll Do

  • Present findings and exceptions to the Investigators and QA Team Lead in a concise and well-written manner that fully supports the core competency, while using independent and professional judgment in addition to all policies and procedures and meet regulatory standards

  • Validate completeness and accuracy of FCO related cases using independent research, reviewing the supporting documentation, and ensuring the narratives address all risk factors and their final disposition is rational and can be fully understood by a third party (i.e., Internal/External Audit, Regulators, etc.)

  • Provide consistent qualitative feedback to the FCO Investigators that follows the QA protocols and procedures without any deviations, as well as clarification to the FCO Associate or Team Lead, as necessary, regarding an Exception finding to assist them in making the necessary corrections

  • Make sound judgment when assessing an Investigator's case narrative and supporting documentation compared to the QA Core Competencies in place while also analyzing the transactional activity and any potential red flags that may be present

  • Confirm that the FCO Investigator made the appropriate corrections based on ALL issued Exceptions, while meeting QA Production goals in addition to meeting quality standards for re- viewing Investigator cases and collaborating with the various FCO teams to ensure synergy and proper communication of various internal processes

  • Ability to determine whether the case review and final disposition was appropriate based on a number of factors while maintaining a thorough comprehension of internal Anti-Money Laundering (AML) typologies relating to correspondent banking and wealth management clients, also keeping abreast of new laws, regulations, and policies in identifying potential unusual activity within an Investigator's case reviews

Skills You'll Need

  • Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese language

  • Relative experience or education as an AML investigator in a transaction monitoring and Suspicious Activity Report writing capacity, (Audit, Testing, QA, or Quality Control role would be a plus) and applied experience of effective internet search techniques with correspondent banking experience

  • Ability to identify, escalate and communicate issues to management in an effective and succinct manner with effective decision-making skills and strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong knowledge of Anti Money Laundering (AML) laws (USA PATRIOT Act), Regulations (Fed, Securities and Exchange Commission, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and their application to the supported products/business lines, as well as a working knowledge of MS Excel, including pivot tables, macros, filtering, and sorting

  • An understanding of the legal and compliance issues of com- plex banking organizations with Operational knowledge of USD payment systems (including Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications, CHIPS, ACH, and Fed Funds) and Case Management Systems (Actimize / Mantas)

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

  • Bachelor's degree required; Masters or JD preferred

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Jacksonville, FL office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Jacksonville is $54,000 to $77,400. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
