What you'll do
As the Senior IT Internal Controls Specialist (Remote), your main focus will be to ensure that The Shyft Group is compliant with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) through assessing the design and effectiveness of the company's controls, approving IT security and change controls, and reviewing business process control tests.
Additionally, you will utilize your IT security knowledge and understanding of ERP and finance platforms to perform various internal control functions on a regular basis with the goal of ensuring compliance, security, and privacy of company data.
You will also:
- Oversee all IT general controls testing related to key financial systems
- Gather the critical cloud applications SOC reports required for reporting and audit compliance
- Review IT changes that affect key financial systems
- Evaluate security roles and ensure that the separation of duty matrix is followed
- Partner with external auditors to upload and provide data and key information
- Assess the risks associated with the IT environment
- Identify the necessary controls to mitigate risks
- Test the controls in place to ensure they are operating effectively and efficiently
- Review policies and procedures to ensure they are updated and align with standards
- Ensure that any control deficiencies or areas of non-compliance are remediated
- Deliver training to the IT team to ensure they understand ITGC standards and can maintain compliance
- Conduct internal control testing and review for Business Processes

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a similar technical discipline that is applicable to IT and business processes controls
- Three or more (3+) years of IT general controls testing expertise
- A history of controls testing in accordance with COBIT standards and SOX
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attentive to detail and a history of staying organized
- Versatility, flexibility, and the willingness to succeed despite changing priorities
