Overview: The Inventory Control Analyst oversees inventory management processes corporately and across multiple business units. Key responsibility is to drive inventory down while enabling high customer service. This role will develop, implement, and maintain inventory policies, procedures, and control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions for maximum use of inventory investment to meet customers' demand and business growth across multiple business units. Responsible for in-depth data analytics for reporting performance metrics, identifying opportunities, loss prevention, inventory policy governance, inventory positioning and continuous improvement. You will work cross-functionally with Purchasing, Demand Planning, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Master Data Management and strategic customer/vendor partners to ensure inventory positioning and procedures are aligned with corporate objectives. Principal Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing inventory policies and inventory positioning to reduce inventory investment and improve cash flow.
- Responsible for leading and effectively communicating key inventory priorities to support our growth and demand across the business
- Ownership in design and roll-out of various inventory related initiatives to "right size" inventories maximizing both customer service levels and cash flow metrics
- Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual inventory plans / reports / metrics.
- Develop, implement and champion a slow moving, excess and obsolete inventory reduction process to maximize cash investment and reduce loss.
- Monitor and isolate potential errors, issues, miscommunication by reviewing monthly inventory reports; recommend improvement and implement changes based on results of research
- Perform quarterly ABC analysis at various levels of Supply Chain and update ERP system with results
- Coordinate with Supply Chain Purchasing/Planning on inventory policies for inventory replenishment.
- Assist in coordination of lifecycle management and loss prevention
- Ad Hoc Reporting and advanced inventory analytics for internal/external customers to support strategic and tactical decision making
- Review inventory planning master data parameters, safety stock levels, lead times, vendor requirements and order multiples to further optimize inventory levels
- Commodity trend analysis for determination on best time to invest/procure.
- Prepare and present inventory review for S&OP.
- Facility planning advisor to executive leadership for space requirements and optimization.
- Develop recommendations to senior management on changes in business workflow and continuous process improvements.
- Assist in any ad hoc report preparation, analytics or other duties required by Supply Chain COE.
Essential Functions
- Strong data collection and analytical skills. Firm understanding of technical concepts, data flow architecture and the ability to communicate technical concepts. High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Lookups, Pivot tables, Arrays, Statistical functions, VB scripts). SAP advanced user experience preferred. Microsoft Access experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills: Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and related tasks; Ability to identify and structure complex problems, rapidly prioritize issues and solution development, plan and conduct complex work, process information quickly, and place information into an intuitive context or framework;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills: Deliver clear and concise written and verbal messages in a structured manner, manage differing points of view, tailor communications/ style to audience, and craft presentations with quality expected for senior level executives.
- Utilize project management tools: build and maintain project schedules using tools such as Wrike, Asana, Microsoft Project.
- Ability to work in a high growth, matrixed organization.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Expertise
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in Supply Chain Management or related field
- 2+ years of experience in supply chain / inventory planning or comparable planning/analytical role
- APICS CPIM certification
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Ability to recommend and implement suggested improvements across the organization
- Ability to manage/mine data from multiple sources to create necessary reports and databases
- Multiple site distribution network experience is preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office a must, strong Excel skills required
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills with ability to articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Possesses strong organizational and prioritization skills with ability to negotiate, influence and lead.
