Job Summary

The duration of this temporary role is approximately 7 months.

The Neuroscape Center at UCSF is looking for an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator to coordinate older adult recruitment and characterization. The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator (Assistant CRC) works directly with the Principal Investigator (PI) and performs duties related to the support and coordination of research. The Assistant CRC's primary duties include but are not limited to, screening, enrollment, and tracking of research participants, assisting with the maintenance of the participant database, and conducting cognitive resting for the purpose of research characterization. The Assistant CRC will participate in data analysis under supervision and will work alongside a diverse team of staff and volunteers. Regular meetings with the supervisor and research team are expected.

Department Description

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.

Required Qualifications


  • High School graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; excellent organizational skills; and excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment; ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines on concurrent projects.
  • Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with participants and co-workers.

Preferred Qualifications


  • BA/BS degree with coursework in psychology and/or neuroscience
  • Experience working with participants in a research setting.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software (python, R, SPSS, MATLAB)
  • Prior experience working with older adults in any capacity
