Director, HR Business Partner - Information Technology

The Director, HR Business Partner, is responsible for leading Sentara's IT people strategies to drive business outcomes, enable business transformation and create a best-in-class culture. Sentara is currently heavily investing in its IT infrastructure, data and systems to support our aggressive growth agenda. This role partners and works closely in collaboration with Sentara's HR Centers of Excellence.

* Serve as a strategic partner to the IT executive leadership team to develop, lead and manage the people related strategy

* Drive HR practices, processes and initiatives that support our strategic growth priorities

* Lead a Strategic Workforce Planning initiative to identify the IT talent needs of the future

* Facilitate the process for talent identification, development and succession

* Grow, develop and retain a pipeline of future leaders

* Foster a high performance culture that aligns to Sentara's core values

Knowledge Base and Experience

* Developed broad experience in all functional areas of HR, including development, total rewards, HR operations, talent acquisition and Diversity & Inclusion

* Experience working in highly complex and matrixed environments

* Understanding of the Center of Excellence model present in larger, complex organizations.

* Possesses strong change management skills and an ability to lead through dynamic business cycles or changes

* Ability to influence and lead through collaboration

* Specific experience within IT is strongly preferred

* Understanding of what makes a healthy culture and the levers to develop key attributes of a culture that supports business objectives and team member engagement

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

* 7 years of progressive experience in leading projects and driving talent strategies

* Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines to include, compensation, talent management, organizational design, diversity, performance management, change management, leadership development

* Experience in highly complex and matrixed organizations

* Preferred Location: Hampton Roads, Virginia

Job Summary

Responsible for partnering with division executive leadership teams to develop, lead and manage division people-related strategy with shared responsibility for goal achievement. Drives HR practices, processes and initiatives that support division strategic objectives. Solves complex challenges through people-related solutions. Partners with Centers of Expertise (COE's) to design and execute strategy. Maintains advanced level of business literacy of division financial position, midrange plans, culture and competition.

Seven (7) years progressive experience in managing people, processes and resources achieving identified goals and objectives. Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines to include compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and labor relations, diversity, performance management, and Federal/State employment laws. SPHR, Healthcare experience and masters degree preferred.
