Summary

We are seeking an experienced Architect with 10 to 14 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Spark in Scala Databricks Unity Catalog Admin Databricks CLI Amazon S3 Databricks SQL Databricks Delta Lake Databricks Workflows and PySpark. This role is hybrid with no travel required and operates during the day shift.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable data architectures using Spark in Scala and Databricks technologies.
  • Oversee the administration and management of Databricks Unity Catalog to ensure data governance and security.
  • Provide expertise in Databricks CLI to automate and streamline data workflows.
  • Utilize Amazon S3 for efficient data storage and retrieval ensuring high availability and durability.
  • Develop and optimize Databricks SQL queries to support data analysis and reporting needs.
  • Implement and manage Databricks Delta Lake to ensure data reliability and consistency.
  • Design and maintain Databricks Workflows to automate ETL processes and improve data pipeline efficiency.
  • Apply PySpark to process and analyze large datasets ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation and improvement in data architecture.
  • Contribute to the companys mission by delivering high-quality data solutions that support decision-making and drive business growth.

Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture and related technologies.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Spark in Scala and Databricks Unity Catalog Admin.
  • Have hands-on experience with Databricks CLI and Amazon S3.
  • Show proficiency in Databricks SQL and Databricks Delta Lake.
  • Be skilled in designing and managing Databricks Workflows.
  • Have strong knowledge of PySpark for data processing and analysis.
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Possess strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Be committed to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends.
  • Have a proven track record of delivering high-quality data solutions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model.
  • Show a strong commitment to data governance and security.
  • Be able to mentor and guide junior team members effectively.

The annual salary for this position is between $[135,00 - 140,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
