Job description

Through a series of formal rotations and learning experiences the Rotational Project Engineer directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration and completion of assigned projects and tasks. Formal rotation assignments include the Operations and Estimating departments.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Estimating Rotation



  • Executes amendments and/or change orders.
  • Discusses schedule and budget with client, architect and Engineer.
  • Develops key vendor list to ensure database of subcontractors and suppliers are current
  • Prepares, completes or reviews all project reports to ensure accuracy. Provides project status report, financial reports and project schedules in accordance with company guidelines on timeliness and completeness of information.
  • Attends pre-construction and/or bid meetings.
  • Facilitates weekly project status meeting with owner, owners' rep, vendors, subcontractors and others connected with the project. Prepares and distributes meeting minutes indicating agreements reached, task assignments and related information.
  • Ensures all bid requirements are known at the outset of the bidding process.
  • Manage trades.
  • Responsible for labor counts.
  • Assist with scheduling materials/deliveries.


Operations Rotation



  • Sets up meetings and interacts with Subcontractors.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and specifications.
  • Acquires all necessary insurance certificates and permits for project start up.
  • Responds to clients' questions/requests.
  • Responsible for subcontractors and all activities on site.
  • Sets up and puts together close out book.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:



  • B.S. Degree in Construction, Engineering, Management preferred
  • 0 - 2 years of related experience and/or training
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills


Salary Range:

$65,000 - $75,000
