Flotech is a subsidiary of FloWorks International LLC, which is a privately held company located in Pasadena, Texas.

The Shop Manager is responsible for operating automatic and semiautomatic machinery, as well as related equipment, within a continuous production and processing environment. Monitors relevant controls and adheres to established guidelines to ensure compliance with production and process specifications across all machinery, including overhead cranes, gantry cranes, and welding equipment. Conducts all activities in accordance with established safety protocols. Performs routine tests to verify production and process conditions, while maintaining accurate operating records and documenting test results. Operates and tends to various cutting and forming machine tools, including band saws, chop saws, hand sanders, and a range of hand tools. Holds overall responsibility for the efficient operation of the shop.

Some of the exciting things you will do in this role...

  • Always ensure proper PPE used.

  • Operate machines to weld, cut, shape, drill, or mill metallic material.

  • Maintain and install actuation, electric, pneumatic etc.

  • Read job specifications to determine actuator/machine adjustments and material requirements.

  • Align layout marks with die or blade. Set machine stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or template. Install machine components, such as chucks or cutting tools, according to specifications.

  • Remove burrs or sharp edges from work piece, using file, hand grinder, wire brush, or power tools. Verify conformance to specifications.

  • Examine completed work pieces for defects, such as chipped edges and marred surfaces, and sort defective pieces according to defect.

  • Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or work pieces, or adding coolant to machine reservoir.

  • Other duties as assigned.

A must...

  • HS Diploma or GED required.

  • 5+ years of experience in area of responsibility.

  • Experience with managing a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervising support staff.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
