Job Description:

Responsibilities

The Program Assistant will communicate with staffs of regional laboratories, epidemiology, and healthcare facilities, maintain supply inventories, track shipments, and assist with compiling reports. The incumbent will also respond to requests for colonization screenings to assess infection control and utilize a clinical information management system.

The Program Assistant will provide administrative and programmatic support to the Wadsworth Center Northeast Antibiotic Resistance Laboratory Network. The incumbent will perform duties to ensure coordination and implementation of project deliverables and collaboration with reginal area laboratories regarding fungal testing.

This work will ultimately contribute to improved detection of fungal diseases and provide insight into infection control in healthcare facilities.

This position will be part of a dynamic team serving the Wadsworth Center's mission in the New York State Department of Health's efforts to protect and promote the health of New York's citizens. Come be a part of Science in the Pursuit of Health!

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and two years of general office, secretarial, or administrative experience; OR four years of such experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with purchasing. Experience processing travel requests. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience preparing reports and budgets. Experience coordinating meetings and working within on-line virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom.

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will not be available.
