People travel from across the country and around the world for Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) treatment at our hospitals. University of Minnesota Medical Center and University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital have provided compassionate, expert, innovative care to blood and marrow transplant (BMT) patients for over 40 years.Our program has been at the forefront of advances since performing the world's first successful BMT in 1968. Our teams have performed more than 6,000 BMTs since that time. Our BMT Program continues to thrive as one of the most respected BMT research and treatment programs in the world.

What you will do as a Scheduling Coordinator - Procedures:

  • Schedules multiple same day appointments, follow-up appointments and special or complex medical procedures
  • Follow up medical appointments/admissions ordered by providers to ensure high level of patient and physician satisfaction and follow up.
  • Provides support to staff and physicians, and other customers by managing phone calls and correspondence
  • Prioritizes and maintains patient files and documents
  • Requests additional patient records from other clinics, facilities to ensure continuity of care

What you will need:

  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology, knowledge of medical office procedures, including scheduling and patient registration. EMR training.
  • 2+ years of work experience as a medical secretary and/or scheduling complex medical procedures. Proven experience practicing good public relations, customer service, time management, work prioritization and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn and adapt to current operating systems. Excellent patient relations skills required. Strong telephone and computer usage skills including Intermediate Word and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Location: 909 Fulton St. SE., Minneapolis MN

Hours: 1.0 FTE, 40 hours a week
