The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, is seeking a part time hourly Athletic Trainer to contribute to the success of the department by providing health care services at outreach locations within the community primarily covering special events contracted to UIHC Sports Medicine. This position collaborates within a multi-disciplinary team and directly assists other medical providers in providing care for patients. Provides direct patient contact primarily for the evaluation and treatment of medical and orthopedic pathology. General roles include the prevention, diagnosis, and interventions to treat emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience Requirement: 1-3 years of relevant experience as an Athletic Trainer. Working knowledge of orthopedics and sports medicine. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Iowa Athletic Trainer License. CPR certification. BOC Certification.
