Job Summary Information Technology Services (ITS) at the MCCCD is looking for a Software Engineer to lead the software solutions and the escalated support tier for Google Workspace services used by employees and students. This role is a technical subject matter expert over software development projects for Google Workspace and its integration with enterprise systems and data. This role leads Google Workspace service administration, operational support, eDiscovery retention, troubleshooting, and documentation for system design and operational specifications. The Engineer will also have the opportunity to coach and mentor technical staff and collaborate with college and district staff to provide solutions for business challenges. Essential Functions 30% Performs as the designated expert and lead engineer for Google Workspace services and their integrations with ERP systems and Single Sign-on; engineers, develops, and maintains enterprise software that interfaces with Google REST API's and enterprise databases (Oracle/SQL Server/Amazon Web Services) using languages such as C#, Python, Google Go; oversees complex integration projects in these areas. 20% Engineers, administers, and documents Google Workspace service configurations and procedures concerning email delivery, account security, spam/phishing/malware, distribution lists (Groups), Google Drive, Google Storage, Google Vault retention & eDiscovery, OAuth integrations, Google Meet, Chat, Chromebook management, billing & renewals, service monitoring, and privileged access management & auditing. 20% Performs escalated tier of engineering support for Gmail, Drive, Calendar, and other service issues that cannot be resolved via first tier support, engaging with Google Support if necessary; troubleshoots email delivery and server authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC). 10% Supports key stakeholders from Maricopa Executive Leadership Team, Information Technology, Customer Care, Faculty, Human Resources, General Counsel, Marketing, MCCCD Police, and Identity & Access Management. 10% Analyzes the product roadmap of Google Workspace and plans feature implementation; collaborates with stakeholders to develop timelines, communication plans, testing, and change management of the roll out. 10% Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in any field and seven (7) years of technical work experience in programming, systems analysis, design, and development of system software and applications. Or Associate's degree in any field and nine (9) years of technical work experience in programming, systems analysis, design, and development of system software and applications. Or High School Diploma/GED and eleven (11) years of technical work experience in programming, systems analysis, design, and development of system software and applications. Desired Qualifications A) Experience designing and programming applications, REST/Web Services, and API integrations using C#, Python, Java, or Google Go to interface with REST APIs and web services. B) Experience in engineering databases and data interfaces for enterprise applications using SQL Server, Oracle, or AWS cloud databases. C) Experience administering Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 email & productivity suites in a large/medium enterprise setting (user management, privileged access management, policy management with organizational units, security settings, application & API access management, OAuth, domain settings). D) Experience administering and troubleshooting email & DNS configuration and policies, including email routing, authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM), spam rate monitoring, and DMARC policies and reporting. E) Experience delivering excellent customer support using a Help Desk ticketing system. F) Experience in Git source control and writing documentation for code and system design.
