Position Summary: Job Responsibilities: * Practices within the scope of delineated privileges. * Provide direct care to individuals and families consistent with the philosophy of NYU Langone Health - Brooklyn and the departmental/institutional goals. This includes the provision of safety, well-being of patients and visitors, and maintenance of patient rights and confidentiality * Provide diagnostic and assessment services to patients utilizing a problem-solving approach:
* Documentation of all patient encounters including:
* Maintain required unit records, report, and statistics necessary for administrative purpose and reimbursement, including discharge summaries. * Evaluation and management of critical care patients * Perform emergency lifesaving procedures in the absence of a physician. * Participates in rounds with the attending staff and/or the house staff on assigned patients. * Collaboratively works with other healthcare professionals and families of patients in the physical and emotional transitions of admissions, care, and discharge. * Provide preventive health services including counseling and teaching in health maintenance and problem related areas. * Participates in activities relating to Quality Improvement as needed. * Participates in committees as appropriate. * Attends all scheduled departmental meetings/conferences. * Be on call during non-working hours to assist attendings in urgent or emergent situations/procedures. * Direct, instruct and evaluate activities of P.A. and medical students as appropriate. * Participates in activities fostering professional growth and maintenance of certification. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $149,118.40 - $180,658.40 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
