First Shift Industrial Shredder Operator

Job Summary: The Destruction Operator is an second level position and requires knowledge of processes and equipment throughout the work area assigned. The Destruction Operator can perform tasks such as card accountability, destruction of materials, and ticket verification of scrapped cards. The Destruction operator will also maintain the PCI standard necessary for security purposes Job Duties:
  • Prepares cards for loading into the shredding machine
  • Load cards into and start the shredding machine
  • Run the shredding machine
  • Move shredded materials from the output area of the shredding machine
  • Work in place of the Destruction Lead in a limited capacity while the Lead is away
  • Make ticket transactions for all received materials and completes all paperwork
  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates
Accountabilities:
  • Reports to the shift Supervisor and receives direction from the Supervisor, Shift Lead, or Destruction Lead
  • Assists Destruction Lead in the secure transportation of scrapped materials from each department to destruction
  • Responsible for secure transactions using the computer software for destruction
  • Follows established safety and environmental compliance
  • Accountable for meeting the daily requirements
  • Responsible for general daily maintenance of the work area
  • Cleaning of work area at the beginning and end of shift
  • Assist Destruction Lead in shutting down the room and machinery at the end of shift
Job Specifications:
  • Exposure to shop noise
  • Required to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to operate mechanical machinery
  • Physically able to bend, lift, and stand over long periods of time
  • Flexibility on schedule (must be able to work overtime and on weekends on an as needed basis)
  • Adheres to MasterCard and Visa association security standards
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good attendance habits
  • Ability to work in an enclosed area for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Ability to comprehend written work instructions
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills
  • Safety conscious with a good understanding of general safety requirements
