Currently, Alliant Health Solutions, a "2024 Best Place to Work and Healthiest Employer", seeks an Infection Preventionist. This role is contingent upon award of contract.
In accordance with customer contractual requirements, the Infection Preventionist is responsible for improving quality outcomes in the area of infection prevention by supporting the Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN - QIO) sub-aim measures across multiple provider settings.

In this role, the ideal candidate will:

  • Identify appropriate interventions from the Intervention Design Framework based on the results from provider assessments for incorporation into the Quality Action Plans.
  • Utilize quality improvement methodology, implementation science, healthcare facilitation, intervention effectiveness, behavioral science, and other Alliant-adopted strategies to understand, measure, and predict contract performance through timely and effective measures.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance and expert-level coaching on infection prevention and control topics such as CAUTI, CLABSI, CDI, MRSA, and SSI in virtual or onsite meeting.
  • Assess, track, monitor and enter timely data entry (within 48hours) within designated Alliant Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or CMS system to document technical help and update contacts.
  • Collaborate with other clinical subject matter experts and program managers to identify efficiencies in work.
  • Assess and analyze available data to identify opportunities for improvement in infection prevention and control measures evaluate effectiveness of interventions.
  • Practice rapid cycle improvement techniques in daily work.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this role include:
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare Quality Improvement (QI) and the ability to motivate and lead others to provide quality services and deliverables in a timely manner, with experience with improvement of healthcare acquired infection (HAIs) in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge, skills, and experience with critical-thinking, innovation, and problem-solving, recommending successful solutions, including the spread and implementation of such solutions for large scale change; excellent oral and written communication spanning from executives to general public.
  • Knowledge of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network data submission process (NHSN).
  • Knowledge, skill, and ability to utilize Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Excel, and Internet.
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare Quality Improvement (QI)
  • Ability to take initiative, operate independently, self-motivate and goal oriented
  • Ability to motivate and lead others to provide quality services and deliverables in a timely manner
  • Ability to travel as needed driving and/or going on an airplane to home office, customer locations, meetings, etc.

Education, experience and training required and preferred for the position are below:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, nursing or related healthcare field; or equivalent work experience
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC or equivalent)
  • Five years of experience in an acute or long-term care healthcare setting with understanding of the CDC National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN)
  • Three or more years of experience in project management, project planning and/or coordination of daily activities, data analysis, constructive reporting, quality management techniques and tools

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in related field or equivalent work experience; or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in improvement of HAI rates
