Currently, Alliant Health Solutions, a "2024 Best Place to Work and Healthiest Employer", seeks a Manager, Infection Prevention and Control. This role is contingent upon award of contract. In accordance with customer contractual requirements, the Manager, Infection Prevention and Control is responsible for improving quality outcomes around infection prevention in the Quality Innovation Network - Improvement Organization (QIN - QIO) for designated states in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) award to Alliant Health Solutions and other contracts with a focus on infection prevention.

In this role, the ideal candidate will:
  • Provide leadership and support to Infection Preventionists for the use of the quality improvement methodology, implementation science, healthcare facilitation, intervention effectiveness, behavioral science, and other Alliant-adopted strategies to understand, measure, and predict contract performance through timely and effective measures.
  • Identifies appropriate interventions from the Intervention Design Framework based on the results from the provider assessments for incorporation into Quality Action Plans.
  • Collaborates and actively participates in the PMO (Program Management Office) structure including the establishment of maintenance of project governance, standardized processes, methodologies, and performance metrics to ensure consistent project execution and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Participate in technical assistance encounters to provide expert-level coaching on infection prevention and control topics such as CAUTI, CLABSI, CDI, MRSA, and SSI.
  • Collaborate with other clinical subject matter experts and program managers to identify efficiencies in work.
  • Analyze available data to identify opportunities for improvement in infection prevention and control measures evaluate effectiveness of interventions.
  • Practice rapid cycle improvement techniques in daily work.
  • Assess, track, monitor and enter timely data entry (within 48 hours) within designated Alliant Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or CMS system to document technical help and update contacts.
  • Represents Alliant Health Solutions on local/state/national levels speaking at quality conferences, sharing expertise with workgroups, and collaborating with other organizations.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this role include:
  • Knowledge, skill and ability to communicate in verbal and written forms to include presentation, training and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare Quality Improvement (QI) and the ability to motivate and lead others to provide quality services and deliverables in a timely manner, with experience with improvement of HAIs in a healthcare setting
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in program management including possessing organizational skills and paying attention to detail with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated successful management skills to include leadership, communicative skills, and commitment to quality.
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience with Salesforce software
  • Knowledge of in Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) contract requirements, data analysis and quality improvement methodology
  • Knowledge, skill and ability to analyze situations, determine risks factors and prepare action plans accordingly to achieve desired outcome
  • Ability to take initiative, operate independently, self-motivate and goal oriented
  • Ability to travel to Alliant Health Solutions states for CMS and State Contract needs, Company office locations, customer meetings and/or other locations by car or plane as needed or required
Education, experience and training required and preferred for the position are below: Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, nursing, or related healthcare field; or equivalent work experience
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC or equivalent).
  • Five years of experience in an acute or long-term care healthcare setting with understanding of the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).
  • Five years progressive management experience in quality improvement projects, developing relationships and partnering with a variety of staff including professionals, state and local government, and stakeholders.
  • Experience with CMS contract requirements, strategic planning, data analysis and quality improvement methodology
  • Three years of experience in project management, managing people, project planning and/or coordination of daily activities, data analysis, constructive reporting, quality management techniques and tools.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in epidemiology, public health, nursing, or related field; or equivalent work experience
