- Sizing and preparation of specifications for mechanical equipment and systems.
- Design for materials handling, conveyor systems, crushing and screening system, dust collection, control systems, chute, duct, piping systems and equipment layouts in a heavy industrial environment.
- Participates in the preparation of capital cost estimates: calculate capacities, weights, and develop quantity take-off.
- Senior Mechanical Engineer develops conceptual through final designs and prepares calculations to verify workability of mechanical details; uses CAD and 3D modeling (Revit or similar) software to produce accurate, construction drawings.
- Senior Mechanical Engineer prepares project flow sheet and conducts feasibility studies and creates reports.
- Coordinates with vendors.
- Senior Mechanical Engineer coordinates with multidisciplinary team members.
- Attention to detail and accuracy essential. Good communication skills with ability to coordinate work with other disciplines, strong organization skills to effectively manage time and resources efficiently. Travel required. Experience in mining or minerals processing preferred.
- Familiarity with Autodesk's Revit, AutoCAD, Solidworks, or Inventor.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in Software such as Belt Analyst; Bulk Flow anlyst; Aggflow; Pipeflow and Caesar II preferred
Senior Mechanical Engineer Education & Experience requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering; M.S. preferred.
- 10 to 15 years of experience
- Active P.E. licensure
- Background experience in minerals, cement, and/or lime
- Working knowledge of Revit
- Strong experience in materials handling
- Needs to be a self-starter personality
- Experience in leading projects
