Compensation Range:62,700-80,000

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.

Job Purpose

The Networking Administrator II provides technical support for end-users with an emphasis on maintaining and optimizing our network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance of our network systems, and providing advanced technical support to end-users. Interacts closely with server/storage, cybersecurity, and help desk teams to resolve network issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless networks to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Manage and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other related equipment.
  • Perform routine network updates, patches, and configurations.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Provide Level 2 support for network-related issues, escalating to Level 3 support or external vendors as needed.
  • Work closely with the IT Help Desk and other IT teams to resolve technical problems quickly and effectively.
  • Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of network incidents, changes, and performance metrics.
  • Enforce and follow EnerSys policies and procedures
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience
* Minimum of 2 years help desk or PC related experience
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in network administration or a related role.

Language Skills
* Ability to follow written and verbal directions in the English Language.
* Ability to speak/read/write English.

Mathematical Skills
* Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations

Reasoning Ability
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Computer Skills
* In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, etc.
* Proficiency in network security practices and tools.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS (Server & Workstation) and Microsoft Office Suite
* Working knowledge of PC hardware and printing systems
* Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)

Other Skills and Abilities
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Ability to follow and create project plans as directed by the IT management and provide quantifiable project updates throughout the project
* Ability to efficiently use time and resources in accomplishing daily and project goals while maintaining a customer service-oriented attitude

Other Qualifications
* Available for after-hours or weekend work for system upgrades, maintenance, or emergency situations.
* The position will be part of an after-hours on-call rotation.

TRAVEL REQUIRED: May involve occasional travel to remote sites.

General Job Requirements
  • Must be able and willing to be on-call.
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
