General Summary

Support the Branch Manager with overseeing daily operations and activities involving the store, kitchen, drive through window, ATM, alcohol and tobacco sales, lottery tickets, fuel, etc. at the Elkwood Facility. Perform all essential duties as outlined in the Branch Manager's job description during the Branch Manager's absence.

Essential Job Functions




  • Assist with Interviewing, hiring and training staff. Provide input to the Branch Manager on performance appraisals. Provide overall support to the team.
  • Sustain a positive work environment through diversity, understanding and respect.
  • Ensure conditions across the facility meet or exceed standards for safety, service and overall operational efficiency. Ensure all areas are neat, clean and organized.
  • Coordinate with the Branch Manager to oversee daily operations including fuel, food, inventory and customer service.
  • Ensure proper standards for food safety and sanitization. Assure fresh food and beverages are available at all times.
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed for employee purchases, money orders, lottery sales, credit cards, check cashing, etc.
  • Ensure the safety of dispensing fuel and propane products.
  • Ensure shelves are stocked with relevant products and replenished frequently.
  • Ensure registers are operated according to company policies and standards.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of all equipment.
  • Engage regularly with customers to ensure a positive shopping experience. Provide excellent customer service and build rapport to gain an increase in customer base. Work in coordination with the Branch Manager to resolve customer complaints and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Receive merchandise.
  • Apply the principles of checking ID's on all customers who purchase alcohol and tobacco products.
  • Coodinate with Branch Manager to efficiently resolve inventory/cash shortages.
  • Ensure all company video and security procedures and policies are followed at all times.
  • Maintain safety and security of the store. Properly document any incidents that occur with employees, vendors or customers.
  • Assist with all functions associated with the ATM located inside of the store following all established safety and security procedures.
  • May prepare deposits and deliver to the bank.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. College degree in a business related field preferred. Servesafe certification is required or must be willing to obtain certification provided by the company once on board.

Experience: One or more years as a supervisor or manager of a retail or convenience store

Work Environment



  • Job functions are performed in an environment with exposure to food, hot oil, grease, sharp objects, glass, kitchen appliances, slippery floors, hot water, fumes, cuts and burns, hot and cold environments (ovens and freezers), contaminants, noisy and distracting environment, working in close proximity to others.
  • While traveling may have contact with hazardous materials and drive/travel and work in adverse weather conditions


Physical Activities & Requirements

While performing the essential job functions of this position, the following is required:



  • Continuously balance, bend, manual dexterity (fingers and hands), use hands in repetitive motion, stand, twist back and neck, utilize eye/hand coordination, stoop, walk
  • Frequently stack, crouch, kneel, pull, push, lift, carry up to 25 pounds assisted or unassisted, drive
  • Occasionally sit



Must be able to speak to co-workers, vendors and customers regarding day-to-day business operations.

Tools & Equipment

Cash register, credit card machine, ATM, hand truck, phone, fuel pumps, fire extinguisher, kitchen appliances, broom, mop, mop bucket, vacuum cleaner, kitchen utensils, pots and pans, dishwasher, gloves, hair/beard net, apron or uniform.
