Job Summary |
This position is a professional role focused on increasing undergraduate, graduate, and professional student enrollment through coordinated, planned, and data-driven recruitment practices.
The Student Recruiter will represent the College of Health Sciences and Pharmacy at recruitment events hosted by high schools, community colleges, HBCUs and other minority serving institutions, community and social service agencies, local and regional businesses, and faith-based organizations. Provide expert guidance on the College's programs, including nursing, health information administration, occupational therapy, pharmacy, and public health. |
Job Description |
Student Counseling, Advising and Relationship Building: 30%
- Regularly counsel and advise prospective students, families, and the general public on university policies, procedures, admissions processes, pre-college planning, and general information such as financial aid, housing, registration, and other student services. Provide detailed guidance on career opportunities, academic majors, and courses related to health professions.
- Foster strong relationships between prospective students, families, and the university.
- Generate personal inquiries through networking and professional relationships.
- Evaluate and advise prospective students using a consultative approach to best determine educational needs and position the university as the school of choice.
- Represent the university at recruitment events to attract prospective health professions students.
Strategic Recruitment and Event Planning: 45%
- Plan on-campus and off-campus recruiting events, including open houses, information sessions, group and individual tours, workshops, and other activities.
- Coordinate tour requests and admissions activities.
- Collaborate with the Office of the Dean, Department Chairpersons, and the University Office of Admissions to analyze historical enrollment data and make informed decisions regarding travel to target markets.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions with prospective students in the CRM.
- Achieve contact efficiency metrics and guide students through the online application process.
- Support application/registration events as applicable.
Marketing and Recruitment Materials: 20%
- Assist in the production and distribution of recruitment materials, including brochures, pamphlets, newsletters, social media, etc., to represent the College of Health Sciences and Pharmacy and the university.
Professional Development and Other Duties: 5%
- Participate in professional development activities annually.
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree in education, marketing, communications, psychology, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in health professions student recruitment with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in admissions, recruitment, or a related field, within higher education.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Certification in admissions, recruitment or related areas
- Master's degree in education, marketing, communications, psychology, or a related field
- Fluency in written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English (bilingual)
