SUMMARY

Drives company truck and picks up loads of densified cans, used and full beverage containers, and other commodities for specified accounts. May do minor repairs on assigned vehicle and perform basic PMs on can densifiers at customer accounts and keep the Maintenance Department informed of major problems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned and management retains the discretion to add, delete, or change the duties at any time)



  • Drive tractor & trailer which may require shifting and use of a clutch on assigned vehicle
  • Responsible for completing the Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) noting any defects on assigned equipment, daily Driver Log and Monthly Mileage Report
  • Follow all Federal, State and Local driving regulations and ordinances
  • Perform basic PMs and cleaning of can densifiers
  • Use required PPE protective equipment as required which includes, but is not limited to, proper ear, eye, hand protection
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Must be able to interact in person with peers and the public
  • Must be able to handle high stress situations
  • Recognize and comply with affected employee Lockout/ Tagout procedures
  • Ability to train others while performing the Essential Duties of this job
  • Other functions may be assigned.
  • Occasional moderate / heavy lifting up to 100 pounds required
  • Pushing, pulling, bending, twisting and crouching motions are required
  • Clean and perform basic up-keep/maintenance on assigned vehicles.
  • Keep all required logs and records current and accurate in order to be in compliance with company policies/procedures, as well as, federal/state regulations and laws.
  • Follow all company safety policies/procedures and federal/state regulations with regard to vehicles, to include, reporting all accidents/incidents.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



  • Valid CDL-A with ability to drive manuals (required)
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent (required)
  • 1 year of professional driving experience (required)
  • Minimum of 3-6 months Mechanical experience (preferred)



Physical Requirements



  • Occasional moderate / heavy lifting up to 100 pounds required
  • Pushing, pulling, bending, twisting and crouching motions are required
