The Events and Database Manager will support and manage various aspects of activities at the Innovation Nest. Primarily, they will manage the many events at the Innovation Nest including those that are from OVPR, other departments internal to Temple, and those by groups external to Temple University. Secondarily, they will track and manage the various databases required to track iNest engagement and activities and those of Temple Spinouts, such as StartupTree and CoWorks. They will work with incubating companies ensure that the facility is meeting their needs, and alerting leadership if there are issues to be addressed. They will coordinate with finance and the Manager of the Blackstone LaunchPad at Temple, and report to the Executive Director of the Innovation nest that fall under Temple University Office of the Vice President for Research.

Essential Functions:

Managing the schedule of events at the Innovation Nest; implement planned events at the iNest: including coordinating set up, food ordering in coordination with iNest Finance Manager; Management of the CoWorks system to schedule events, book conference rooms, and when available book offices and labs to incubating tenants; Manage all technical aspects of the presentation forum, such as displays connectivity components; Assist the Executive Director with engagement regarding Temple University spinouts: both those incubating at the iNest, and those that are off site ensure accurate recordkeeping, including jobs, revenue or funds raised, as well as their present and future technical and job needs; Strategize with the Executive Director and other members of OVPR to help design events to create events that increase engagement with target groups; Work with the Manager of the Blackstone Launchpad to supervise student interns; Lead tours of the facility; Work with the iNest team and our stakeholders to create new programs and grants.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience with managing events and programs and/or business operations. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

*Occasional work some weekend and evening hours.

*Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty, community partners, students, entrepreneurs, professional service providers.

*Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

*Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals.

*Ability to interact with a diverse group of students, administrators, faculty, staff and participants.

* Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office software programs, CoWorks, StartupTree, business databases.

* Good technical and computing skills to manage presentation displays and communications programs, like Teams and Zoom

*Ability to function as a member of a collaborative, multidisciplinary research team and to provide support to various levels of leadership.

*Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

*Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse stakeholder population to include community partners, clients and staff.

*Strong organizational and time management skills.

*Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and meet project deadlines.

*Ability to use public transportation and travel to off-site locations that may not be accessible via public transportation.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
