Job Description

Raymond West is looking for a dynamic Shop Lead to manage and direct service repair shop operations. Convey and maintain the company vision and culture. Responsible for coordinating all operational activities associated with a specific function within the assigned department. The Shop Lead is also responsible for assisting the shop manager with day-to-day activities, ensuring timely completion of new installs, rental requests, and used sales, while ensuring safety procedures are always followed.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Assign and supervise the operational activities within the Shop department.
  • Ensure work procedures are followed and expedite workflow.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, providing direction and guidance to the team.
  • Arrange schedules, set priorities, and communicate processes to staff and external stakeholders.
  • Train and coach staff on processes and procedures.
  • Assist in the overall direction of the department and participate in company or department projects.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and manage timecards utilizing the company's Time and Attendance system.
  • Work closely with the Parts Department to maintain proper parts flow and ensure timely completion of shop work.
  • Review Shop quotes for accuracy and profitability.
  • Handle customer concerns, monitor compliance with shop procedures, and ensure high-quality standards are maintained.
  • Lead and coordinate monthly safety checks and Weekly 5S audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety procedures.


Required Skills/Abilities:



  • At least 2 years of material handling forklift repair experience.
  • Over 5 years of mechanical background.
  • Experience in a leadership role (Lead, Supervisor, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other office software.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Capable of making sound decisions and maintaining effective working relationships with employees and customers.
  • Familiarity with products serviced by the repair shop.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC electricity, hydraulic systems, and mechanical systems.


Education/Experience:



  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • At least 2 years of material handling forklift repair experience.
  • Over 5 years of mechanical background.
  • Leadership experience (Lead, Supervisor, or similar role).
  • Must have completed the Raymond Technical Primer and RW Scheduled Maintenance Primer.


Physical Requirements:



  • Non-sedentary position requiring walking, standing, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive use of fingers, wrists, and hands.
  • May occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • Moderate noise level.


Pay Range:

$21.40 - $47.15 per hour. The specific pay offered will depend on the candidate's experience, education, and location.
