Systems Administrator

To Be Successful in this Role You'll Need to:
- Have a strong background in planning, designing, configuring, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing complex IT infrastructures
- Have experience supporting system reliability, security, and performance
- Ideally have a strong background in Entra ID, cloud-based applications, and experience with CMMC and Microsoft GCC High environments.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Provides technical support for client and server operating systems, utility software and systems services including network file systems, mail, printing, and Active Directory.
- Diagnoses complex system problems and recommends solutions.
- Works with users to establish system requirements and evaluates and recommends hardware and software systems. Develops technical integration plans and communicates project schedules.
- Analyzes, installs, configures, integrates, and maintains system software, hardware, and related applications and equipment.
- Manages and monitors system availability, performance, and security. Tests, troubleshoots, and optimizes performance of system. Making proactive adjustments as needed.
- Plans, schedules, tests, and coordinates system software upgrades.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions. Restores files or systems by designing, writing, and implementing back up procedures.
- Develop and maintain thorough understanding of current and future systems that impact operation of applications and databases.
- Ability to design and support one or more specialized applications or systems including LAN/WAN, web, voice, video.
- Provides Level-2 end-user training and support escalated from Desktop Support Specialists and/or the helpdesk solution.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Collaborate with other IT team members on projects and initiatives.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree and 3-5-year experience in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or Information Technology related field required. An equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience may be considered.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for Azure and Microsoft 365 management
- Understanding of current industry standards and best practices (SAN, Virtualization, etc.).
- Experience maintaining, installing, configuring of SQL Servers and thorough knowledge of industry standard database monitoring tools for Microsoft SQL.
- Demonstrated appropriate scripting or programming experience, preferably in .NET.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft 365)
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, and scheduling.
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Entra ID (Azure AD) administration and security.
- Experience with Citrix environment administration.
- Experience with BarTender software for label printing
- Experience with TELCO systems and infrastructure
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Security Engineer)
- Experience working with Microsoft GCC High or similar government cloud environments.
- Familiarity with CMMC requirements and implementation
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-171, DFARS 7012)
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments
- Experience with storage system management and optimization
Work Environment:
Work is normally performed in an office environment with occasional exposure to the manufacturing environment.
