We are actively looking for a Senior Environmental Planner to join our Raleigh office. As part of the Environmental Group, the Senior Environmental Planner directs and oversees multiple environmental aspects of company and prospects including agency correspondence, environmental reports, assessments, and impact statements. Completes study of natural environmental factors.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Facilitate positive and safe workgroup interactions
  • Oversees and develops project scopes, schedules, benchmarks, and budgets
  • Navigate regulatory protocols and best professional practices on behalf of the project and team
  • Create business proposals for funding purposes
  • Engage in quality assurance
  • Engage in tasks like report preparation and submittal and peer review
  • Supervise fieldwork (survey, site recording, testing, monitoring, and data integrity) of multiple field crews
  • Identify as point of first contact for communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Sign off on field status reports and presentation of team findings
  • Remain up to date with new advancements in the field of environmental planning
  • Participate on committees for policy and regulatory development within the industry
  • Participate on committees for research and educational program development within the industry

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental studies/Biology/Ecology
  • 20+ years of related experience
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
  • Availability and willingness to travel
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Physical requirements:

Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
