Project Engineer - Peekskill, NY

The Project Engineerprovides project management and project engineering for the development and execution of capital projects at the Peekskill site. The role also provides support to other technical initiatives as needed for operational support and plant optimization. In addition, the role works in close collaboration with other project managers and functional groups at the site providing technical support where needed.

Capital Project Management: Lead all phases of assigned capital and/or expense projects as determined by site/business priorities and capital spending budget. This includes scope development, detailed design, cost estimating, authorization request development, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and EHS Reviews. All such activities must be done in accordance with established policies and procedures. Projects must meet agreed-to requirements for cost, functionality and schedule and be completed safely.

Requirements:

• Lead all phases (scope development, cost estimating, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and startup) of capital projects.
• Act independently with general direction and supervision. Direction is given in the form of project assignments, with periodic follow-up to determine progress, obstacles and path forward.
• Identifiesthe need for and assemble/lead teams for plant optimization and operational support as required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic AutoCAD skills.

Education & Experience:

• BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• 4+ years experience in a chemical process manufacturing environment
• 1+ years experience in capital project management

Preferred:

• Professional Engineer license
